La Casa Nuova

The La Casa Nuova has a spacious kitchen – and right in the center is the marblet-top table (seats eight) which was in the kitchen of the ruined farmhouse when we moved there to work the land in 1975 (and there wasn’t much else in the house!). But that table has a story: our farm neighbor Peppe – strong as a bull – carried the marble slab on his back about two kilometers uphill on the impassable (not any longer!) dirt road through our woods.

We like to set the table with Deruta maiolica dishes for our guests, welcoming them with vegetables from our garden, our farm fresh eggs and an array of fresh herbs.

The Kitchen

The kitchen has a gas stove, oven, washing machine and is well-equipped with pots, pans, and dishes in the wooden hutch (once my mother’s); windows open to the countryside.

The Bedrooms

The La Casa Nuova has three spacious bedrooms (double rooms which can become twin-bedded rooms), each with windows opening to the countryside and with charming wooden furniture of the Umbrian rural style.

The Bathrooms

The roomy apartment has two ample bathrooms with showers and modern fixtures

The Outdoor

An outdoor table under the loggia in front of the house might be where you’ll be enjoying your dinners.

…Though your first dinner in your apartment is probably going to be with us!
